Hello, you may be wondering what this website is about. The site has been dormant as I worked on other projects and now I have moved it to its own server I plan to get down to work and create an open source learning and teaching website.
What does this mean? well you can use anything I develop on this site under a Creative Commons 2.5 Licence, that is you are free to use the fact sheets and templates (usually based on Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Powerpoint) as long as you keep the reference to VisitandLearn.com and if you use it on your own website you drop me an e-mail (contact [@] visitandlearn.com) and let me know where you have used it. A link back to this site would be most welcome.
Most of us use computer applications daily, yet many of us only use about 2-3% of the functions of a typical application such as Microsoft Word. If I can increase your knowledge and skills by 1% I will have succeeded in making a difference and hopefully will show you how powerful these applications are and encourage you to learn more.
I am planning to add a number of other resources including templates for spreadsheets that you are welcome to use at home, or at work, anywhere. I am currently working on a spreadsheet that can be used to manage your finances and home budget, especially if you are heavy in dept. I know how stressful this can be so I have put together the spreadsheet with some hints and tips. Please remember I am not a financial wizard and also do not offer any financial advice, just suggestions and links to official websites where you can find out more.
Ok I may as well tell you my English and Grammar is (are) hopeless, I may even be slightly dyslexic although I have not been tested for this. I have worked as a lecturer and currently work with database and management systems so I am not “totally stupid” as people with issues writing tend to get labelled. I hate it when people criticise my grammar and spelling mistakes, believe me I do try my best. If you can see beyond these errors you may find a useful resource being developed on this website, if you do notice a mistake, drop me an e-mail or add a comment, a positive and supportive comment will always be welcome.
If you decide to use anything on this website for a teaching situation, in a school or college then please, please check the grammar and spelling before giving it to your students - nothing worse than a smart alec telling the teacher that there is a problem or something is incorrectly spelt. If you have time you can let me know and I will then fix it.
