Cats are wonderful pets yet I have read that you never own a cat as they retain a lot of their natural behaviour and often remain distant and independent. At time of writing we have two cats, our house cat, Toby, was found on a country road when he was around 8 weeks old as I was driving back from the beach with the dogs. He was badly injured when I found him on the road and the vets put in a lot of work fixing up his injuries, which they did at no cost. His injuries healed well and he turned out to be a lovely friendly, but independent cat. He loves our dogs and his people, however he will not sit on anyone’s knee for more than a couple of minutes.

Toby does get outside on a harness and he enjoys his walks. I feel he has used up eight of his nine lives already so is not allowed outside on his own. The other reason for keeping him as a house cat is that he has strong hunting instincts for birds. We do not want him hunting anything, especially not the lovely wild birds in our garden.

Our other cat was left at the farm where we live when her owners moved away and Sooty Sue eventually moved in with us. It took several weeks of feeding her outside before she gained the confidence of moving into the house. Sooty puts up with Toby, our younger cat, however she eats and sleeps in the conservatory away from Toby who wants to play, while Sooty being over 10 years old does not.

Our “third” cat is Heidi, a black female cat who moved in with us when her owners adopted a young feral cat. We were allowed to keep Heidi after we discovered her owners where nearby neighbours, she is a wonderfully friendly cat who gives me a lot of cuddles.

Anyway, that is our cat story so far. I hope you enjoy playing the online jigsaw puzzles, as well as seeing the pictures. Many of the pictures are from Pixabay and you will find an acknowledgement link to the photographer at the bottom of each page. You will also find pictures and jigsaws of Toby and Sooty Sue.
